(People often look at me in wonder as they try to figure out what I am taking a picture of…)

Hazel, thanks!

I’ve got an entire shelf of cookbooks here at home, but some of my most frequently used ones include:

-Hot to Cook Everthing, Bittman
-Complete Seasons Coobook, Williams-Sonoma
-Anything by Rick Bayless (Mexican food)
-5 Spices, 50 dishes, Kahate
-More Cooking in the Wine country, Weir

For gluten-free alternatives, I generally combine web searches such as http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?q=gluten+free+recipes with recipes in my cookbooks, or inspired by whatever is in the kitchen.

While everyone else is taking pictures of the normal stuff, I am lagging behind taking “artsy” pictures that capture my eye. It’s gotten to be so my son’s take pictures of me taking pictures! They never understand my fascination with the non-tourist trap photos. Some day they will see a flying buttress and get as excited as I do!
