I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time and your blog as well as others have inspired me to start my own. I was diagnosed with RA about 4 1/2 years ago. In the past 2 years I have become involved with awareness and advocacy. Right now I am working on building my blog and also providing links to other sites about RA. I’ve added your site as it is very inspiring and approaches the difficulties of living with RA from a unique perspective.

Feel free to stop by my blog and check out my personal journeys as well as my work with advocacy and awareness.

Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

Michelle

I wore a blue skort and a purple shirt. Blut + purple = rheumatoid arthritis (as opposed to “arthritis” or “osteoarthritis”).
We NEED a world-wide Rheumatoid Disease observance.
Cheerio!

There is also a book you can read on the subject. “The New Arthritis Breakthrough, Including Dr. Brown’s classic, The Road Back by Henry Scammell”

I can’t offer much in the way of info, since I am new to it myself, but I sure wish someone would’ve told me about it years ago.

Take care,
Gina

Maybe I’m being dumb, but I don’t see how “arthritis day” will do anything to help the other 100+ forms of arthritis – other than osteo arthritis. Those who don’t know that RA and others are nothing like OA or old folks arthritis, will not learn so by calling it ‘arthritis day’ or wearing blue. Is there something else going on to raise awareness for RA and other auto-immune diseases? Because I haven’t met many folks who know that arthritis can be auto-immune or systemic, or anything other than a few aches and pains. RA (and others) needs a name change, and anything less is going to result in continuing the lack of awareness that exists. In my humble opinion at least. I’d love to be wrong, I’d love to learn that there are provisions for this “A. day” that call attention to RA and how it isn’t arthritis at all (at least as far as most know what arthritis is…)
