You definitely have it together, even in the midst of a flare. It’s strange but even when I am in a flare, I am relieved knowing that I will soon feel better. Funny how RA teaches us to view things differently.

I went to church today and had one of those moments where I felt I needed desperately to hear the message the pastor was giving. She talked about a passage out of Isaiah where it says, “Arise! Let your light shine, for the Light of the World has come.” I know that sounds obtuse in relation to RA, but I needed to hear it during this flare I am having. It depressed me, but through this flare I found RA Guy, Catipoo, Lana and others to sustain me and give me hope. Even when I am at my darkest, I have my RA friends to remind me of the goodness in life and my many, many blessings. Happy New Year!

It is important for us to reflect upon victories, regardless of how small, rather than our setbacks. It helps me too when the pain is bad. I also remind myself that I have to keep going because no one else can live my life and that helps too. None of us invited RA in our lives but we still have to continue on regardless of RA.

It is remembering that during a flare that is hard. I am so glad you are coming out of this flare. I hope you are having some fun on your break. I am being really lazy! (That is fun to me!)
