I was 23 when I got diagnosed, I’m now 25. My onset was more gradual so I was not bedridden but the feelings of fear and anger were all exactly the same. I thought my life was over.. but it’s really not and I can honestly say life is really good just now! So hang in there, we’re all behind you!!

I was about Bri’s age when I was first diagnosed (I am now 27). I’d love to be in touch with her, if she’d like a big sister/RA mentor-type person. It’s so scary and weird and your whole life as a young woman changes. There IS hope at the end of the RA tunnel and live goes ON – better than before. I was truly blessed to catch my RA VERY early before I experienced the kind of debilitating pain that Bri describes and my heart aches for her. Keep your spirits up, Bri – it gets better! I <3 our community!

PS – How weird that there is another KAT!

PSS – I am running the NYC Marathon this November with the Arthritis Foundation. I am also fundraising for AF.
