Strength Training with Inflammatory Arthritis
The labs say I’m healthy, no RA or Lupus. I am blessed that my joints do not show signs of damage. However, the pain in my body says different. My rheumatoligist told me that negative labs can be quite common at the start of disease and that I am “on the spectrum of inflammatory arthritis”. Those of you with autoimmune diseases may have experienced the same situation. I am lucky that she believes me. She believes I’m in pain, believes I ache, and believes that it truly affects my life despite my best efforts. She wants to treat me, and so I have started Plaquenil. So here I have poured out my heart about my disease and haven’t managed to say a thing about strength training yet! That’s what this blog is about, strength training with autoimmune arthritis. Here is my back story and lets get on with the lifting!
