Intended audience: administrators of financial assistance programs within major medical centers/hospitals.

There are no specific requirements, but I found the following guidelines/hints after Googling “Character Reference Letter”:

Salutation: To whom it may concern

1st Paragraph: Explains how you know the person you are recommending. (Please feel free to use “RA Guy”. I’m be sure to make it clear in the application that I am RA Guy.) With a character reference letter you are writing a recommendation letter because you know the person and their character, rather than because you have direct experience with their work or education.

2nd Paragraph: The second paragraph of a reference letter contains specific information on the person you are writing about, including why they are should receive the needed financial support, what they can contribute, and why you are providing a reference letter.
